Social Protection Interventions
Karandaaz’s Social Protection Interventions focus on enhancing the reach, efficiency, and impact of vital government services. By leveraging technology and innovation, we support the digital evolution of key social protection programs, ensuring better access and more effective delivery for the most vulnerable segments of society.
Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS)
Karandaaz has successfully completed the second phase of the Digital Transformation at CDNS, which now offers a mobile banking app with features such as customer registration, PIN management, account linking, and internal fund transfers. Security measures were bolstered with vulnerability and penetration testing (VAPT), and ISO 27001 information security policies were implemented. Additionally, CDNS’s core system was integrated with the Central Depository Company (CDC), expanding investment and profit transfer options. All 367 National Savings Certificates (NSCs) have been automated and centralized, Savings Accounts upgraded to IBANs, and over 200,000 ATM cards have been issued, providing enhanced financial access to customers.
Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety (MoPASS)
To improve the operations of Pakistan Bait ul Maal (PBM), Karandaaz engaged a consultant to conduct a thorough assessment. The outcome was a comprehensive digital transformation strategy and roadmap, outlining 14 initiatives valued at PKR 1,674 million (USD 5.86 million). This strategic plan aims to enhance the capacity of PBM, allowing it to more effectively support those in need across Pakistan.
Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP)
Karandaaz has played a pivotal role in supporting BISP’s Digital and Financial Literacy Training (DFLT) pilot by developing the curriculum, training master trainers, and conducting field tests. In addition, Karandaaz is contributing to the Hybrid Social Protection Scheme (HSPS) by integrating technology with Raast and developing end-to-end management systems to ensure effective and transparent implementation of the program.
