Facilitating transformational change
within the ecosystem
At Karandaaz, innovation has a transformational definition. We innovate by inventing solutions that have the potential to introduce new technologies and behaviours that facilitate access to finance for SMEs and individuals.
Under the Innovation vertical, we encourage disruptive approaches to address challenges in the financial ecosystem through the Innovation Challenge Fund.
For Karandaaz, a special area of focus is also entrepreneurship for women. Our Women Ventures initiative provides customised financial instruments and business development opportunities to women entrepreneurs in the SME space.
Innovation Challenge Fund
The Innovation Challenge Fund (ICF) was launched in 2016 with funding from the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The goal of the Fund is to generate innovative yet practicable solutions for solving complex problems in the areas of financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.
Women Ventures
Karandaaz Women Entrepreneurship Challenge (WEC) has evolved into Women Ventures (WV). Women Ventures (WV) is an institutionalised and scaled-up approach to supporting women-led businesses in Pakistan. WV will be accepting applications on a rolling basis throughout the year, from high-growth, scalable, women-led enterprises seeking growth capital. To maximize the chances of success for women entrepreneurs, Karandaaz will also be providing business development support to selected businesses.
Greenfin Innovation
Karandaaz GreenFin Innovations aims to support early-stage green solutions and climate change efforts in Pakistan. The purpose is to provide concessional growth capital and business development support to scale innovative projects for the green transition, climate change mitigation, and adaptation efforts.
