Karandaaz Pakistan (KRN) is a Section 42 non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). KRN is seeded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) under the Enterprise and Asset Growth Programme, with digital finance initiatives funded by the Gates Foundation. Guided by the vision of Investing for Shared Prosperity, Karandaaz works to enhance the capabilities of the financial and digital ecosystems through investments, innovations, and strategic partnerships for inclusive, green, and sustainable growth.

Role Overview

The STTA – Research & Insights will provide high-level analytical and research support to the department. This is a temporary cover. This role requires a professional with strong quantitative and qualitative research experience, capable of translating complex datasets and sector-level policy issues into clear, actionable knowledge products and compelling data visual narratives.

Key Responsibilities

Economic & Policy Research

• Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative research on relevant macroeconomic, sector-specific, and policy-level themes.
• Synthesize multi-source research findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights.
• Draft high-quality policy briefs, research notes, technical summaries, slide decks, and executive briefings.

Data Analysis & Visualization

• Clean, manage, and analyze complex quantitative and qualitative datasets using advanced analytical techniques.
• Identify trends, patterns, and impact metrics aligned with the organization’s development agenda.
• Design engaging data visualizations, dashboards, infographics, and graphical outputs using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Datawrapper, or Flourish Studio.
• Support the creation of data-driven presentations for internal leadership and external strategic stakeholders.

Knowledge Management & Quality Assurance

• Translate technical economics concepts into accessible visual and written content for diverse audiences.
• Ensure data accuracy, methodological rigor, and stylistic consistency across all research deliverables.
• Systematically organize and archive datasets, research references, and output repositories.

Eligibility Criteria

Education & Experience

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Development Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in economic research, policy analysis, or analytical consulting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in data analysis software (Excel, Stata) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Datawrapper, or Flourish).
• Communication: Exceptional written and visual communication skills, with a proven track record of converting raw data into policy-relevant narratives.

Portfolio Submission Requirement
Applicants must submit a portfolio of prior analytical work (published or unpublished). The portfolio should highlight strength in data visualization, graphic charting, dashboards, research briefs, and data-driven presentation decks.
