Our challenge rounds aim to foster financial inclusion by spurring innovation in the financial sector. These rounds use a competitive mechanism to allocate financial support to innovative projects, addressing gaps in the financial services landscape. Through these rounds, Karandaaz supports SMEs, DFSPs, and startups, providing technical assistance, grants, and strategic support to scale successful ideas, optimise operations, and enhance user adoption and engagement.
Karandaaz discovery challenge (KDC)
Description for Category page: In an effort to harness the momentum generated by developments in the DFS ecosystem in Pakistan, Karandaaz aims to provide research support that addresses current knowledge gaps and fosters inventive ideas and insightful solutions.
Round two of KDC focuses on the transformative theme of digital lending for micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Pakistan. We invite innovative research ideas that bridge knowledge gaps, spark evidence-based solutions, and accelerate the shift to digital, fostering financial deepening and formal inclusion to power Pakistan’s journey toward an inclusive digital economy.
Advancing DFS adoption among women
Description for Category page: Despite the potential benefits, adoption of Digital Financial Services among women remains low due to various hurdles.
Existing solutions lack focus on women’s unique needs and challenges, such as limited access to mobile phones, low financial literacy, and cultural barriers.
Utilising a design thinking approach, Karandaaz seeks research proposals for a study on women’s engagement with DFS.
