Karandaaz Digital

Karandaaz Digital is catalyzing the financial services industry towards greater inclusion by employing cutting-edge innovations and digital solutions for social impact. Collaborating with players across the financial services ecosystem, Karandaaz aims to improve access to digital finance for low-income, rural, and otherwise excluded population segments, especially women. Karandaaz Digital aims to work with stakeholders to facilitate the digitization of government and other payment streams and to support innovative digital financial service startups with a special focus on 4 areas of engagement.

Position Summary

The Program Manager Digital Transformation will support the Associate Director in managing and executing transformational projects for the digitalization of government programs and integrations with various payments ecosystem actors. The position requires a techno-functional expert, who can play a key role in coordinating technical assistance, managing vendors/consultants, monitoring project progress, and ensuring timely delivery of assigned initiatives. The role will require strong project management skills, an understanding of digital platforms, digital financial services and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Associate Director in the design, strategic planning, and execution of digital transformation initiatives and programs, including but not limited to social safety net digitization, digital payment integration, automation of revenue-generating value chains, and enhancement of government service delivery systems.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with Karandaaz Digital’s objectives.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution within agreed scope and resources.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with partners including international donors and multi-lateral developmental organizations on different transformational projects.
  • Support the integration of digital payments via Raast and other digital channels into relevant public sector programs.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including RFPs, work plans, technical specifications, progress reports, and presentations.
  • Support procurement-related activities by working closely with the Procurement team to ensure timely onboarding of vendors and consultants.
  • Effectively manage multi-vendor environment for implementation of complex transformational projects at partner organizations.
  • Track and monitor project risks, identify potential issues, and work with the Associate Director to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with technology vendors and solution providers to ensure deliverables meet functional, technical, and quality expectations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective relationships with government partners, consultants, and service providers.
  • Provide operational and technical support for steering committees, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Perform other assigned tasks to ensure seamless execution of all running projects.

Eligibility:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years of experience managing or supporting digital transformation projects.
  • Experience in handling public sector or donor-funded projects will be preferred.
  • Exposure to fintech, digital payments, or e-governance projects is an added advantage.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of digital transformation frameworks, IT systems, and technology solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project, Trello, etc.)
  • Familiarity with donor-funded programs and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; Urdu proficiency is a plus for liaising with local stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and reporting to senior leadership.
